If you are an influencer, you have power that should be wielded in situations such as these. You know people, know processes and know other influencers who can make the world around us a better place.
You recognize that all of God’s children, throughout all corners of our great city, need access to jobs so they can provide for their families.
If you are a business owner, you have a voice because you need employees! Our regional government leaders would listen to you because you have a voice that matters. Your business provides jobs and promotes growth throughout the region. You have credibility.
Business owners and leaders have an incredible opportunity to speak prophetically and wisely to our regional leaders, raising the profile of these key issues and increasing the well being of all of the people in our city.
Not a business owner? Don’t employ people who would need public transportation?
Your voice still matters.
Write, call and be present. Contact your local government officials and let them know what you think. Listen to (and read) what people around the region say about the issues.
And tell your story. They know the facts, and they’ll learn the figures. Your story is something only you can tell.
Here’s to a comprehensive transportation plan for our region. Let’s show our teamwork and collective attention to the well-being of Richmond.
When you did it to one of the least of these…you were doing it to me!
