God,
Creator of the Universe,
Sustainer of Faith, Hope and Love,
Today, on the day our country honors the beginning of a new term for our president, we come to you first, knowing that you are the Creator of all things.
On this day, we pray for all who are in authority — the president and vice president, senators, representatives and officials — and for their families. We ask you to grant them ears to hear and eyes to see so their work may represent the hope of You.
You are One. You are God. Let all you come to know you share your goodness and love all throughout our world, and may we use the power and influence with which we have been blessed to help carry out our mission as we follow You.
Be with us today, tomorrow and forever.
